HISTORICAL MONUMENTS
History was not stingy at all with Ermionida’s land. Quite the contrary, she donated generously its priceless gifts in our land and sea, as well as in the wider region. Knowing findings belong to a wide range of historic periods, starting from prehistorical period, going through Greek classic period, Roman period, Byzantine period and reaching later Greek history. We briefly mention the most famous ones:
- Prehistorical cave of “Fraxthi” and monastery of Zoodochos Pigi in Kilada
- Acropolis and underwater ancient city of Alies in Porto-Heli
- Peninsula of Bisti with ruins of the ancient temples of Athena and Poseidon in Ermioni
- Monastery of Saint Anargiri and the 5th century’s Christian Basilica church in Ermioni
- Byzantine Monastery of Avgo and the chapels of Saint George & Metamorphosis of Christ in the cave in Didima
- Venetian castle ruins in Thermisia
- Old mines in Iliokastro
- Historical rock of “Gouri Vitorise”, the well of Pirgos and its famous cobbled road in Kranidi
- The Byzantine cross-roofed temple of the Holy Trinity and the windmills in Kranidi

Of course, you shouldn’t miss the chance to visit the following famous ancient Greek monuments:
- Ancient open theatre and archeological museum of Epidaurus (45km far away)
- Archeological Museum of Nafplio, castles of Palamidi and Burtzi (70km far away)
- Mycenae Acropolis, with the great Mycenae tombs (75km far away)
